Our VWDC and VWAG teams had a fantastic showing to kick off the 2012 session!

We are so very proud of all our dancers/athletes accomplishements. No matter what score we recieve at future events; we should be so proud of our hard work, healthy bodies and dedication.

In July 2011, six VWDC students experienced a NYC Dance trip! Students participated in two master classes at Broadway Dance Center with Feliciano and Sue Samuels and learned repertoire at Radio City Musical Hall with a current Rockette during the Rockette Experience dance program. The students had the opportunity to see Broadway shows consisting of 'Anything Goes', 'Billy Elliot', 'Stomp', 'Spiderman' and Cirque du Soleils' 'Zarkana'.

We have had an extremely productive summer! Students should be very proud of the commitment and hard work demonstrated through the summer session and intensive! Our instructors are very impressed with the progress of each dancer and athlete is making and are excited for the momentum to continue into our fall lessons.

COMPETITIVE STUDENTS CLASS REQUIREMENTS

Routine rehearsals are in ADDITION to the mandatory class requirements below for competitive students. REMINDER: Attendance in all classes and rehearsals is crucial to the success of the Competition Teams!

VWDC:

Ballet, Jazz, Tap, and a 2nd weekly ballet class (pre-pointe/pointe).

VWAG:

Acrobatic class, Acrobatic Gymnastic class, and attendance to any additional scheduled rehearsals if needed. Additionally, athletes Level 6 and up are required to take the Tumbling and Handstand class.

Pre-Company:

Ballet and Tap class.

Participation in the Competition Team gives young students a better understanding of commitment by offering them the chance to learn, experience the spirit of teamwork, and understand what hard work can accomplish.
