Meet our fabulous faculty!!

Promoting excellence, our instructors work specific to their areas of expertise, offering a large genera of dance styles. Our faculty consists of professional performing artists, holding diplomas in the arts along with other teaching certifications and accreditations. Our faculty remains active while instructing lessons at multiple schools throughout St. Louis; and are recognized for offering phenomenal instruction. Additionally, our faculty continually maintains certifications and routinely updates curriculum with ever changing trends in the industry.



OUR DIRECTOR AND OWNER

Jenny Haberberger


Jenny shares over 17 years as a dance educator. A former student of Norma Beutell-Van Sickle and Mark Krupinski, she obtained extensive professional training in ballet/pointe, tap, jazz and modern techniques including study with the Joffery Ballet and at the Gus Giordano Jazz Center. Her professional performances include multiple youth 'Nutcrackers' with Missouri State Ballet, 'Cinderella' with the Joffery Ballet and Gateway Ballet and 1993-1995 seasons at the Muny. Jenny was privledged to work as assistant to the choreographer, Mark Krupinski, for annual Muny childrens' auditions and develop her passion for teaching and inspiring young dancers. At Webster University, St. Louis Jenny continued her study of choreography and performed under the direction of Gary Hubler with Webster University Dance Ensemble and Webster Dance Theatre. While completing her Bachelor of Fine Art in Dance, Jenny obtained many faculty positions at various dance studios including conducting lessons at COCA in St. Louis. She began coaching young dancers in competitive dance throughout the St.Louis area. Jenny's choreography represented the Webster University Dance Program at the American College Dance Festival and has received awards on local and national levels. Jenny is a professional member of the United States Acrobatic Association, and the National Dance Association. Through the years, she has encouraged a multitude of young dancers to follow ambitions and supported them in their professional endeavors. In 2004, Jenny founded the Villa West Dance studio, offering dancers quality dance education, inspiring students, building a technically correct performance foundation and increasing students confidence. While she no longer performs, Jenny continues to maintain certifications, instructs classes along side her staff, manages studio operations, and commits her extra time to community outreach for area children.



INSTRUCTOR

Chelsea Davis


Chelsea has been with Villa West since 2007. She continues her training with having had 16 years study in Ballet, Pointe, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical and Acrobatic techniques. She performed four years with the Pacific High School Varsity dance team and was proud to place 1st at State in 2008. She also has participated in numerous NDA associated camps, regional and national dance competitions. In 2009, Chelsea was honored to receive an invitational PAK award from the Showstopper regional dance championships. While training and competing, she also assisted Villa West instructors; thus gaining numerous classroom hours with valuable insight and hands on experience with our very young students. Chelsea Davis possesses the rare and unique welcoming personality in addition to curriculum skills necessary in keeping a classes focus while attending to the specific needs of the individual student. Chelsea is a valuable addition to our Villa West family. She inspires students and motivates all with special attention to detail, while offering skilled technique and performance skills. In addition to her role at Villa West, Chelsea is a college student, working on an Dance Education degree with an emphasis in special needs. She also choreographs for the PHS show choir 'Pizzazz', and instructs dance for additional community programs. Chelsea maintains her continuing education as a dance and acrobatic instructor by attending a variety of teaching conferences, teaching seminars and conventions and has most recently received her introductory coaches certification from the United States Acrobatic Association.



INSTRUCTOR

Ashley Drumm


Ashley Drumm began dance at the age of 3; growing up in a dance studio under the direction of Mrs. Sharon DeNoyer McGuire, and has earned many honors, regional and national tiles to her credit. She was a member of the State winning Seckmann High School Dance team and has also studied from dance masters including Darrin Henson (from Stomp the Yard), Mario Velez, Eric Campros, Trisa Brock and several others. Ashley is currently persuing a Bachelor of Fine Art in Dance with an emphasis in modern at Webster University, St. Louis under the direction of Beckah Voigt and she continues to work for the Rickman Auditorium/ Theater in Arnold as a stage technician. Miss. Ashley now concentrates her efforts passing on her knowledge and passion for dance to Villa West students. Ashley imparts a great deal of wisdom to our students as she is versatile in tap, jazz, hip hop, modern, lyrical and ballet styles. Her choreography is intricate and her specialties are Modern and Tap styles. Her classes are fun, keep dancers on their feet and offer a great opportunity to learn!



INSTRUCTOR

Jessica Evans


Jessica brings 9 years of experience as a dance instructor. A former student of Mrs. Jenny, she has studied ballet, tap and jazz styles and has vast experience in urban street dance, jazz, musical theatre and pom coaching. Jessica is a Parkway West graduate, and took dance lessons from studios such as Krupinski Academy, Turning Pointe, Academy of Dance, etc. She was honored to lead her varsity pom team to many competitive events where she became inspired to choreograph. Jessica pursued vocal training and instruction at Millikin University where she obtained a Bachelor of Art in Music and a minor in dance. She was also selected as captain of the Millikin's Varsity Pom squad and established herself as a proven leader as they competed at national levels. She worked with the Universal Dance Association as an adjudicator and became faculty for summer camps. In 2010, she cheorographed for the Parkway North Vikettes competitive team to qualify for state. Currently, Ms Jessica is an IDTA- Illinois Drill Team Association Judge for competitive high schools across Illinois. She is also a private vocal instructor for area students and conducts lessons here at Villa West. This is her 7th year instructing dance at Villa West, bringing the urban styles of hip-hop dance, ballet, tap & jazz to our young students. Jessica is the director of the fitness center at the Double Tree Hotel in Chesterfield; and is a certified fitness consultant. Ms. Jessica's exciting and energetic choreography leads the Villa West Dance Company group routines to winning various awards at local dance competitions.



INSTRUCTOR AND COACH

Lorianne Hagan


Lorianne Hagan has studied all forms of dance, acrobatics and acrobatic gymnastics for over 25 years. She is a regional and national dance champion along with a two-time United States Acrobatic Gymnastic medalist. As a dance major at Webster University, she performed with Webster University Dance Ensemble and Webster Dance Theater. Lorianne attended American Dance Festival where she was selected to perform company repertoire of Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre and Paul Taylor Dance Company. She performed with Taylor 2 in their production of "Esplanade". After graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance with Departmental Honors, Ms. Hagan ventured into the professional arena by moving to New York. While living in New York City, she continued training at Broadway Dance Center, Dance Space and Steps on Broadway. Lorianne was honored to work as a performer, director and choreographer with past members of Cirque du Soleil in the extravaganza "Circo Magnifico". Lorianne is a former member of MOVE, a St. Louis based dance company. Ms. Hagan is an accomplished choreographer winning many Gold, Diamond, Platinum and overall awards at local and national dance competitions. Lorianne's students have gone on to successfully work at the Muny, Stages, the National Tour of "Annie", the Broadway production of "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" and various local and national productions. Recently, Lorianne has been honored and selected of only eleven instructors in the country to be highlighted in the February 2010 issue of Dance Teacher Magazine. The article entitled "Doing it All" respected Lorianne's work in the field and featured her success as "being a teacher who does it all." Currently, Ms. Hagan is on staff at Webster University, St. Louis as an instructor in Jazz. She continues to shares her passion for dance by my teaching young artists throughout the St. Louis area. She is a professional member of United States Acrobatic Gymnastics. Lorianne spends her summers choreographing and teaching for US Performing Arts Camps, a pre-professional camp striving to promote and develop the growth of performing artists in America. When not dancing, Lorianne enjoys spending time with her husband Ben and son Gavin.
