Villa West has teamed up with Broadway Connection to offer exciting and dynamic Broadway Jazz Master Classes! In a series of 2 hour master class sessions, students learn how to stand out in front of directors, choreographers and professors when auditioning for top universities or the Broadway role of their dreams. The sessions end with a Broadway Connection Q & A where the students and parents are able to ask questions and receive the cast member's advice on education, auditions, Broadway shows and more.

KAREN HYLAND - CAST MEMBER: 'BILLY ELLIOTT'

Saturday, November 5th, students of Villa West welcomed Broadway Connection Teacher and Current Cast Member of the Broadway Series 'Billy Elliott', Karen Hyland. Karen taught students a broadway jazz combination from the 'Billy Elliott' Broadway Show.

Karen Hyland is thrilled to join the Broadway National Touring cast of Billy Elliot! A graduate of Millikin University (BFA in Musical Theatre), Karen's professional credits also include White Christmas (choreographed by Tony award winner Randy Skinner), the European Tour of Grease, the National Tour of Joseph's Dreamcoat, The Radio City Christmas Spectacular, Encores! Anyone Can Whistle at NYC's City Center, Crazy for You, The Drowsy Chaperone, The Producers, Cabaret, Thoroughly Modern Mille, 42nd Street, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Anything Goes and many more. Karen is proud Broadway Connection Master Teacher and Actor's Equity member!

BRITTANY CONIGATTI - CAST MEMBER: 'BEAUTY AND BEAST'

Monday, December 19th, students of Villa West welcomed Broadway Connection Teacher and Current Cast Member of the Broadway Series 'Beauty and the Beast', Brittany Conigatti. Karen taught students a broadway jazz combination from the 'Beauty and the Beast' Broadway Show.

Brittany plays one of Gaston's "Silly Girls" in the current National Tour of Disney's 'Beauty and the Beast'. She can also be seen as "Enchanted Objects" such as a dancing spoon, plate, and napkin! Brittany started her training early at the Fiorello H. LaGuardia H.S. of Music and Art and Performing Arts (the FAME school) whre she was a dance major. She then graduated from the AMDA where she majored in Musical Theatre. Presently, Brittany is finishing up her BFA at The New School. Some of her favorite credits include: Hairspray (Swing) and Disney's High School Musical (Cheeleader/Ensemble) at Paper Mill Playhouse. Recently she was assistant and swing to Lorna Ventura for Dance Break 2011 and she also performed in teh R.evolucion Latina Choreographer's Festival where she worked with artists such as Louis Salgado and Marcos Santana. Brittany is a proud Broadway Connection Teacher whose class is fun, challenging, and inspiring to young artists to strive to be the best they can be!

Did you know that Villa West is home to two large performance groups? The VWDC and VWAG members serve as performing ambassadors to our studio through multiple public performances; showing all the wonderful techniques and styles learned. Performers range in ages 3-21!
