REGISTRATION

There is a $35 Registration Fee that is to be paid when you enroll and must be renewed every September. One Family Registration Fee applies to ALL programs at Villa West Dance and Acrobatics! This non-returnable fee covers the cost of registering and maintaining your family in our records and reserves your place in class(es).

Payment for classes are due at the time of Registration. This enables us to keep a more accurate count of how many students are enrolled for each class without overbooking classes.

Reservation of class space due to late start is full registration fee and 1/2 of regular tuition per month.

ATTENDANCE AND MAKE-UP LESSONS

Make-up lessons are encouraged when the student has been absent due to illness or when class was canceled due to inclement weather conditions. Unfortunately there are no make-up classes for acrobatics, hip-hop or specialty classes.

For all other dance classes, Villa West allows and encourages make-up classes for illness, however we must be notified of your intentions to attend a make-up lesson. No credits or refunds will be given for classes not made up.

Regular attendance is necessary if a student wishes to show progress and improvement. Students having had poor attendance may not advance to the next level due to missed technique work and class repetition. Attendance is taken into consideration for class placement.

CLASS CANCELLATION POLICY

In the event of snow or icing weather, you will receive an email alerting you of class cancellation, you many watch for class cancellation on KSDK Channel 5, or you may call the studio to verify the continuation of class; you will not be personally called. Villa West does not follow any particular school districts inclement weather policy. There are no deductions for missed lessons or tuition adjustments; you are encouraged to make missed lessons up in another class.

Classes with enrollment fewer than 6 participants are subject to cancellation. You will be notified of such cancellation and of alternative class choices in advance.

DISCONTINUATION OF LESSONS

We hate to see you go but we realize that everyone may eventually move on. As a courtesy, we ask parents for notice before the end of the month if their child is going to discontinue classes at Villa West. This is so we can possibly invite the next child on the waiting list to join the class the following month.

If you are ever not 100% satisfied for any reason with your experience at Villa West PLEASE let us know so we may continue to offer the best programs possible.

MISCELLANIOUS

We ask that everyone help keep Villa West clean by picking up after themselves and making sure that trash is not left behind.

Please, no parents in the classroom during any class or private lesson. The viewing area is for this purpose. Please do not take up the teacher's "class" time with discussion.

Please inform teachers of any injuries, allergies, or special problems that might need attention or extra care. Teachers must know of any situation requiring special attention.

HOME PRACTICE is needed by each student to progress and parents' encouragement in this matter is greatly appreciated. Students who are not too ill to attend class or have an injury, etc. should still come to class to observe.

Please read the bulletin board weekly for important messages. Check with your child (or in their bags) for any important documents received from class.

SAFETY POLICIES

Please Be On Time! The class warm-up period is essential. At Villa West, our instructors ask that all children arrive early for class. Classes will begin with important warm-up activities, including flexibility and stretching exercises to prepare the muscles.

When students arrive for class, they should remain in the lobby until called for class. Students should wait near the entry to their respective class rooms. Students are NOT ALLOWED in any of the class rooms or on the equipment at any time unless they are enrolled in the class and the instructor is present.

Please help us keep Villa West a safe place by watching young children and siblings closely.

Parents should pick children up inside the building. If a parent is going to be late, please call the studio (636-451-3200) so we can have their child wait in the office area. No children will be allowed to wait outside for pick-up.

CLASS PLACEMENT

Our faculty meets to discuss students' progress and / or placement. It is our policy to offer appropriate opportunities to every child. Placement decisions are derived from many years of teaching experience. Often a child is placed in a particular group where he or she will feel confident, in order to promote the development of self-esteem. Placement is highly individual and the factors that go into the decision are complex. Please see the studio director if you have questions or concerns about your child's placement.

Progress should not judged by comparison of one individual to another. Proper training takes years of learning and practice, and students will progress according to his/her individual style and pace.

Competition Teams are by invitation or audition only.

CLASSROOM RULES

Absolutely NO gum, food or drink of any kind are allowed in the dance studio rooms.

Street shoes are not permitted on dance studio floors! We ask that all street shoes are removed at the door and carry them to the designated area for shoes. (Tap shoes are not allowed on floor in waiting area.)
